Calendars Still Work

Even in this day and age of digital everything, calendars still work. I bet you have one hanging on your wall or refrigerator or office cubicle. Am I right? Why? With calendars on our phones and computers, why do we still use paper calendars?

Because They Are There

We have to open calendars on our devices while paper calendars hang right in front of us. I have a year-at-a-glance calendar on my wall and a paper planner on my desk. I even have a calendar magnet on my filing cabinet for the upcoming year, which is great for long-range plans.

So Give Them Out

Advertising costs a lot of money, no matter how you look at it. Calendars offer a unique opportunity to put your name and contact information in front of clients, customers, and prospects every single day of the year for mere pennies a day. Plus, they are useful to everyone, not just a part of your demographic. Giving calendars out with your business on them builds goodwill with everyone who receives one because you gave them something useful.

I have several clients who give out a calendar every year. Their customers expect them and even look forward to receiving them. Calendars are great for auto repair shops, banks, real estate agents, home remodeling companies (showcase your beautiful work!), and more.

Pick Your Style

There are so many styles available, everyone can choose what works best for them. I receive a tri-folded year-at-a-glance calendar every year from one of my suppliers. It hangs on my wall for me to use nearly daily. Their name, phone number, and website are also right at my fingertips at the bottom of that calendar, keeping them top of mind.

Many of my clients give out themed wall calendars. My tire store chooses three styles featuring 18-wheelers, classic cars, and sport cars. Another gets just one style with scripture verses on it. Wall calendars come in hundreds of styles – like travel, food, automotive, garden, and many more – ensuring you’ll find at least one that you like.

If you want to get referrals, magnet calendars the size of business cards with tear-off pages are great because once the calendar is used up, your magnet stays there. These magnets can also be printed with full-color images, including your profile picture to really keep you top-of-mind.

Sport calendar magnets are great for schools because they can highlight schedules of the teams. Choose from a vertical or horizontal style.

Did you know you can get a calendar bookmark? How great is that for students, especially at colleges? Get a sponsor or two for the back and print the academic year on the front with the school logo and/or mascot.
